YOUR JOURNEY
Our Body’s Response to Moving Beyond the FOG
Many adoptees have experienced the phenomenon of being in the “FOG.” Some describe it as recognizing their is a dark/downside to being adopted, and that the intermittent issues they’ve felt most of their lives are related to being adopted and the early abandonment they experienced. Some say it's Fear Obligation and Guilt associated with the hard wiring that adoption is wonderful, they should be grateful, and then the epiphany that there is more. This new realization then triggers a stress response.
When we experience ongoing stress due to emotional trauma, it can significantly impact our bodies. We may become accustomed to the stress response without realizing its effects. This workshop aims to provide a better understanding of how the brain and body react to stress. With this knowledge, you'll be able to identify and effectively manage your stress/trauma triggers, leading to hope, healing, a healthier and more balanced life.
Designing Your Pathway Beyond the FOG
Do you often find yourself stuck in an old soundtrack, unable to shift to a more positive one? We will delve into the use of neuroscience to understand why this happens.
Moreover, we will introduce you to the powerful tool of Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT or Tapping). This self-help method, involving tapping near the end points of energy meridians on the body, can effectively shift your energy and mindset. It's a practical and accessible tool that you can use anytime you find yourself stuck, offering hope and reassurance in your journey toward emotional healing.
Creating Your Playlist for Hope and Healing
Music is a universal language that most humans can resonate with. Many of us hear a song and it brings us back in time, it also can propel us forward. This session ties what we’ve learned about finding our pathway out of the FOG, connecting with or bodies and the stress response, connecting to our values, and creating our own playlist of hope and healing.
